Learning to Drive as an Adult: It Is Never Too Late

Starting later in life: what to expect and how to make it easier.

You are not alone

Many people learn to drive later in life, because of work, family or a change in circumstances. We teach learners of all ages, and there is no upper age limit for learning.

What helps adult learners

Adult learners often have excellent road sense from years as pedestrians, passengers and cyclists. What can hold you back is confidence. A patient instructor and regular lessons make a big difference.

Practical tips

Pick a regular slot each week, practise between lessons if you can, consider an automatic if the clutch worries you and tell your instructor everything that worries you.
