What to Bring to Your Driving Test

A simple checklist for test day.

What you must bring

On test day you need:

  • Your provisional photocard driving licence
  • Your theory test pass certificate number (if asked)
  • Glasses or contact lenses if you need them
  • A suitable car (or your instructor's car)

What the car needs

The car must be roadworthy, insured for the test, have working seatbelts and an extra interior mirror for the examiner, and display L plates.

Tips for the day

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, wear comfortable shoes, eat beforehand and have a warm-up lesson if you can.
